HIGH COUNTRY 33, OLD WHITE 0
Posted on Saturday 25 September @ 02:53:08 | Send this story to a friend | Printable Version

Scores and Stats After supplying extra bodies to Columbus for the warm up game, High Country took the pitch against Old White for two 30-minute halves. From the get-go, the men in blue were able to pound the gain line through solid tackling and strong, efficient, north-south running and rucking. Hats off to the forwards for being more agressive at the break downs and wanting to keep posession of the rucked ball. As fitness is still playing a part, panic was never a part of the game plan. Lack of oxygen did not dumb down the play on Saturday. Solid defense of the fringe and outer gain line was complimented by gang-tackling and flat preparation.

The big lump, Cheese, had some nice scampers and even called a home run before hitting it (if you do that again, I will tackle you). Bad Mitch, Pale Mitch, Rob, Billy, Spence, Doug and Hipp all played exceptionally well with little work logged at training.

Welcome back Croftie (nice little score). Good on ya Kenya for putting the 6-pack down and putting the boots on. The little boy (PK) played nicely as did Christian, who is never afraid to ruck when needed. The Chappelle Show needs a little work, but played hard nevertheless.

My players of the match are Lee and Cheese. Lee for being in control
and vocal and Cheese for not being vocal.

Plenty of work needed to get ready for the flatbelly college sides,

Cheers,

Mitch.
