Scores and Stats High Country loses tough one to Knoxville

High Country traveled to Knoxville this weekend to lose a tough one to the Possums 27-13. We didn't travel strong and we came out flat and did not execute well for most of the game, but that is no excuse. The first half was pretty even with High Country leading 13-9. The second half however was all Knoxville.

With a number of people playing out of position and being out sized across the board it is a testament to the heart of those that played that it wasn't a complete blowout. In the end it came down to Knoxville being bigger and fitter. Unlike Huntsville where we weathered the storm and them made them play our game, Knoxville never tired and we let them make us play their game. Kudos to everyone that went for giving it 100% until the final whistle.

Special thanks to Mac for playing lock, Cheese for staying in the game longer than he should have and Frosty the Oldman for giving us gutty first half. A special nod to Todd for doing well at prop. The Ref came up after the game and complimented him saying he played well for a rookie and has a bright future. Also, Bad Mitch had so much fun at Flanker it's going to be hard to get him back in the front row.

Pittsburgh is this weekend and we will also probably have a full B side Match against Georgia Tech, so we need everyone out at practice and at the game. We can easily field two sides if everyone will commit. All you old boys are especially encouraged to kit up and provide some on the pitch leadership and experience for our B side. I've Reffed Tech this year. They are scrappy, fit and well coached.

Cheers!
Buddha
