Welcome to the latest and definitely the best installment of the Renegades Buckhead Sevens! This packet of information is intended to give you the information that you will need to know in order to maximize the enjoyment for all participants.

The tournament is being played at the same location as the last two years. We have received permission to expand to a third field for tournament play. In so doing, our objective is to expand the field to 16 in the Qualifying division, 16 in the Social division and 12 in the Women's bracket.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. More information about this group can be found at http://www.choa.org. We are also happy to announce that we are working with the Georgia Rugby Union to try and have a youth rugby exhibition prior to the championship games on the stadium field.

SIGN UP: Entry Fees will be $200 if received by May 30, 2003. The tournament fee will rise to $250 if received after that date. The Woodward Academy is located at 1662 Rugby Avenue, College Park, Georgia 30337. The directions are listed below:
From I-85 South, take the Virginia Avenue exit (exit 73A and 73B). Go right and proceed approximately 1.2 miles to Lee Street. Turn right. Go to the third street (Rugby Avenue) and turn right. The campus will be straight ahead. From I-85 North, take the Virginia Avenue West exit. Go right and proceed approximately 1mile to Lee Street. Turn right. Go to the third street (Rugby Avenue) and turn right. The campus will be straight ahead. For Athletic Events: Once on Virginia Avenue as mentioned in the above directions, turn at the second light onto Madison Street (after the Steak & Ale.) Go two blocks and turn right onto Cambridge Avenue for the baseball, track and soccer fields. Go another block to Walker Avenue and turn left to go to the gyms and football field.

PARKING: IF YOU PARK ON THE STREET YOU WILL BE TOWED AND/OR TICKETED!

Please park in the designated parking lots that you will see opened for your use. Get all of your cars in there somehow, but do not park on the grass anywhere. There is a lot next to the gym, and there are spaces near the main football stadium.

CIPP ROSTERS ARE REQUIRED FOR QUALIFIERS: Applicable teams are to bring their own list of players and CIPP numbers to submit to the tournament coordinator. We will not have forms for you to fill out, and more than likely will not have extra paper floating around for you to use. Please bring a list that can be a simple as a piece of notebook paper with names and CIPP numbers.

CIPP REGISTRATION FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS IS MANDATORY! If you are not CIPP registered you are not allowed to participate in any USARS sponsored events. While we reserve the right to check for your registration number, if you happen to take the field without, you do so under the applicable guidelines set forth by the CIPP agreements ? which means that USA Rugby, USARS, Atlanta Renegades and Woodward Academy enjoy a great deal of legal protection due to the inherent risk assumed by the participants.

KICKOFF MEETING: PETE EMBS will be holding the morning registration meeting at the football stadium concession stand at 8:00 AM to collect any remaining team entry fees and CIPP rosters for the Qualifying teams. At that time you will be able to pick up a couple of gallons of water that will be provided for you and wristbands for the post-tournament party.

YOUR MONEY IS DUE BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN YOUR FIRST GAME. There will be field officials at each field that will be communicating with the central command post to ensure that you have paid before you can take the field. IF somehow you manage to slide by without paying BEFORE you play, your game will be declared a forfeit EVEN IF YOU PAY IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER. Please do us the favor of coming to the payment meeting and taking care of your obligations beforehand!!

GAME KICKOFFS: FIRST GAMES BEGIN AT 9AM SHARP!!
If you miss your allotted kickoff time for your game, your game will be forfeited. There is no grace period. There will be no excuses. We have a large number of teams to accommodate on two fields, so time is of the essence in order to be courteous to the other teams entered. I know this comes across as a pain in the rear end, but RUGBY TIME DOES NOT EXIST AT THIS TOURNAMENT!

TOURNAMENT ENDING TIME: We want to warn all of you that this will be an ALL DAY affair. The championship teams will be playing after 6PM.

CONCESSIONS: As always, concessions will be available at the field for your convenience. T Shirts will also be available.

ALCOHOL & DOG POLICY: WOODWARD ACADEMY HAS A STRICT POLICY AGAINST ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THEIR CAMPUS GROUNDS. WOODWARD ACADEMY IS A PRIVATE SCHOOL. PLEASE DO NOT BE FOUND TO HAVE ALCOHOL IN YOUR POSSESSION WHILE AT WOODWARD.

FACILITIES: There are Men's and Women's bathrooms at both fields available for your use. Please try to keep them as tidy as possible, we want to use this facility again in the future!

TOURNAMENT HOTEL: The Residence Inn by Marriott is on the corner of Piedmont & Pharr Rd. We have negotiated a rate of $85 for the suites which advertise that they sleep 4. Larger suites are available for $130. 20 rooms have been held under group name ?Buckhead Sevens Rugby Tournament?. Call 1-800-228-9290 for reservations. These rooms are going to be held until May 16th and then they will be sold to the general public. Points of contact are at the following website. Food and plenty of Killian's beer will be provided. Wristbands for party entrance will be distributed at the captain's meeting at the beginning of the day. Tournament awards and raffle winners will be presented at the bar. CJ's offers live music on two stages.

As this will be in a bar in Buckhead you will need to provide proof of age to enter the establishment. Please have that proof with you, if you do not, we cannot help you. The owner of CJ's will not negotiate on this issue.

1-85 NORTH through Downtown Atlanta. Take the GA 13 North / Buford Hwy exit. Exit onto GA 237 headed North on Piedmont Road (which will be a right turn). A few miles on the left you will see the TOURNAMENT HOTEL ? RESIDENCE INN. Continue up Piedmont to Pharr Road and turn left. Go straight ¼ mile and turn right onto Sims Circle. Bear left onto Buckhead Av. CJ's is on the right at 270 Buckhead Av.
