Ladies,
As a quick update, to what is going on, let me provide the following.
We are vigorously working with the City to secure the necessary rights and controls to the grounds we sod. We are swinging a pretty big economic carrot, considering the sod donation and the clubs labor contribution, this totals about +$25,000.
After further talks with Pike Nursery and after explaining, despite what PK told you, a rugby pitch is not a 30' x 60' field. It has been determined that a Rugby Pitch is well, large. In view of Pike's new understanding on size dimensions, they have taken this project much more seriously.
3 things have occurred since last email. One-based on the end of the growing season, the large contribution from Pike, considering they are close to reaching their charitable giving for the fiscal year ( and that is a direct quote) and the water needed to ensure that (9) 18 wheeler loads of sod is not laid and then promptly dies due to water or freezing, we are looking for this sodding for next Spring. Two-Based on Pikes' new found understanding of the dimensions of a pitch, they want to see man hour commitments to selling the ass-end out of some Christmas Trees. And Three- since the City of Atlanta is on a shortage of green space and efficiency, we don't want time to be our enemy and are not going to push this to happen before the freeze of this fall.
The point......we need to sell the ass end out of some Christmas Trees. And don't ask me what the ass end of a Christmas tree looks like. I'm hoping it looks like and empty Christmas Tree lot !
Please take this time to reaffirm your faith in HCRFC and your commitment to Christmas and Trees. ( Even if you do sing the dradel song, this year you love Christmas!)
More to follow later. Just remember the HCRFC chant.... I sell the ass end of a Christmas Tree ,,,,,, (actually I need to work on that, I don't know how marketable that slogan will be. )
