Everyone- (this means you)
This is a draft of a letter I sent to my old college and later to my grad school. Please copy it, personalize it and send it to your college and/or grad school. You may also include my contact info with it if you wish. When you send it out, please copy me so we can collect the contact emails to keep on file. If you don't know who the current contact for your old college club is, go to their website and ask. Consider sending this to any clubside you played with prior to coming to Atlanta as well.- Buddha
Hey Guys,
My name is Pat Beaird. I graduated from Rhodes in 1983. I played Rugby there, but back then we were mostly a B-side for Old #7's.
I wanted to extend an invitation to all of your graduating players to come play with High Country Rugby Club should they relocate to the Atlanta area. In addition, if anyone will be in the Atlanta area for holidays or summer break, you are welcome to come out and join us for training.
A member of the Georgia Rugby Union, High Country is a strong club both on and off the field. We play Division III Rugby and look to move to Division II next Fall. In the GRU, we are currently ranked first in Division III and fifth overall. Last Spring we went 7-1 in Division III play.
Off the field High Country is a very close knit social group, spending a lot of time together and enjoying a camaraderie now lost at many teams. We also host on average 1-2 international sides per year and tour around the country, or overseas, on a regular basis.
Founded in 1975, the club is 27 years old and has a long tradition of competitive rugby. After a successful campaign in 1990 the team went on to win the Southern Regional Championship and competed for the Eastern title. Similar results were achieved in the 1991 and 1992 seasons. In 2000 High Country returned to championship form by winning the USA GRU Division III Championship.
We offer housing and job assistance as needed. Temporary/permanent employment in construction or the restaurant business is available. We also have a strong old boy network and offer career assistance in everything from sales, law, or real estate, to finance, or technology.
If you are traveling through Atlanta, stop by the team bar- The Brewhouse in Little Five Points. For more information on High Country, check out our web page at

Good Luck in your Coming Season!
Cheers!
