Targeted Audience:

Coaches and players: Attendees are encouraged to participate in the practical demonstrations



Goal:

To understand the aspects of the modern game, which are critical to a team's success using videos, classroom discussions and practical demonstrations.



Topics:

The Scrum - Just a restart to the game, or a weapon?

The Lineout - Too complex or too simple?

Ball retention - key to victory

Continuity - keeping the ball alive



Instructor: Nigel Horton

Nigel played 20 tests for England and represented the British Lions on their 1977 tour to New Zealand. He played for Moseley and Toulouse in a 25-year playing career. He also coached in France for the St. Claude RFC, Bourg en Bresse RFC and Rouen RFC from 1980 to 1993. Upon his return to England he was the Coaching Director for Birmingham & Solihull RFC. Since 1993 he has been involved in the design and marketing of Predator Training Equipment, which is used by many of the top rugby teams throughout the world. In addition Nigel has given lectures to the Rugby Unions of England, France, South Africa, Canada and the United States on the different aspects of forward play.



Fees:

$50 for coaches, $10 for players; payments to be made via Rugby Imports website which accepts all major credit cards.
