GT Game by: Anonymous on: Monday 14 January @ 11:30:23 | | John Perkins and Jimmy contributed with very steady play also in the front row.
Our locks we were verry active in the loose and made big gains offensively. Cheese consistently ran hard, Mike showed some of the promise we've all seen by blocking a kick at the 40 meter line, and recovering the ball and advancing it almost for a try. His girlfriend will be in attendance for all future games. Tom Grant is starting to pick up the game, and made more than a few good plays. Ohio Joe was solid and helped us in the loose too.
Spence, Hixs, and Tim all played well at loose forward. Spence turned in his typical performance and made it tough for Georgian Tech to start any momentum.
Pork Chop at #8 was active offensively and defensively and gets my vote for pack player of the match. See you in May Chop.
Overall we played well in the pack.
Ronnie and Steve were solid at scrumhalf. Ronnie's ability to give constructive criticism on the field helped us raise our packs level of play, and kept us focused on controlling the ball. This was especially helpful because of the constant new players in the game.
The backs showed what they can do if we get them the ball. Our Japanese missle, Hiroshi, was launched a few times with expected results, two trys. Matt Hernandez was very effective and smart with the ball and his passes. Preacher(Matt Reynolds) ran hard cleaned, and supported all game. Steady play and great defense from our flyhalf, Mitch, was critical in get the ball out wide, and stopping Tech before they got started. Our new wing Will played well on defense but didn't get his hands on the ball offensively enough. Next time well correct that. Pauli played well, for his surprisingly 2nd year. Nice try in support Pauli.
But my back player of the game goes to Tommy. Tommy never left the field. His ability to run to the open spot and make good decisions with the ball we're paramount to our success in the back line. He also played solid defense, but his decisions with the ball and tough running helped us the most. Great game Tommy!
See you tuesday @ Austin T. Walden
