Old Boys/Bagby's 40th
by: Anonymous on: Monday 22 April @ 07:40:37
The meeting was attended by Gil and Joyce Bell, Mike and Kelly Croxton, Kurt Thomas, Dan McKessey, Ken Jr. Harrison, David Grace, Doug Stoltz, Clint Wolfman Stallings, Tony Poole, Brendan O'Neil, Alex Munoz, Gregg Paco Trance, Jim JT Turner, and Pat Budha Beard. Making a special appearance were Hugh and Claire, our old friends from Wales. They were here on a special mission to mark time in High Country History as Paul Put more in Bagby turns 40. It's always good to see our old Cumbran friends, who first played High Country back in 1992 @ Walker Park. Hugh gave a personel challenge to get on his home pitch and thrash Mike The Possum Croxton, if he ever steps on the pitch in Wales. Both players played scrumhalf and the debate is still flowing over who's legend is larger in their minds. The lake party was a collection of the usual suspects. The same group from the 5 season’s Brewpub, plus our old friend Sam “Fat Sam” Stitler. Gil was his usual Martha Stewart with the sacrificial pig. All who came enjoyed, food, drink, pontoon boat, sea kayak, and Jet Ski until they could handle no more. A commitment was made for a BBQ/Old Boys party at Croxton’s, Kurt Thomas’s, and Gregg Trance’s before the end of the year. The Old Boys also agreed to accept and squash the challenge of playing an Old Boys’s vs. The Current High Country club this fall as a B game. Also plans for a 2003 Savannah St. Pat’s High Country Old boy team was committed to by some of the old boys. This list will be kept up on the web site, and updated as needed. Paco
