High Country vs. UGA
By Paco - Date: 2001-09-17 09:01:51

First things first. We won 19-17. I'm very proud how we won. Holding UGA to no points in the second half and scoring 17 points ourselves. I'm not proud of how we played in the first half to put us in that situation.

First half was loose, fragmented, and had no flow to the game. We constantly threw passes out of our asses and turned good ball over to our opponents. As Budha said, stop playing 7's and set the platform. We'll practice this. Way to many penalties. I counted 6 in the first half.

Great response to Budha's words in the second half. Mitch Long played very well, as did the rest of our pack, but Gabe Guillia was a tackeling Fiend. He also got Pack man of the match. Our backs as usual were led by our ageless flyhalf/scrumhalf combo of, Mitch & Ron We tackle all forwards. Our Arizona transplant, Scott, made very good decisions and passes. He also played 2 full games! But our newest speedster, Hiroshi was our Back Man of the match. He made some great runs again.

The second game was good for High Country also. We played against less experience again, and played much better. We have learned from 7's to swing the ball back across the field, and did that very well in this game. We just need to set the platform more consistently and this will develop better opportunities for us.

Pauli, Emil, Cheese, Boukater, Spence, Ronnie all played well in the second game.

Thanks to all for going. The night out in Athens was even better.
