SERRS will be teaching a Level 1 Referee Certification course in
Columbus GA on August 11th.
The Course will be hosted by Ray Davis,
and will cost $75
(all money goes to USARRA, SERRS keeps nothing). The course will
start at
10:00am and go until 5:00pm, with a lunch break in the middle. The
course
teaches fundamentals of refereeing for the new referee, or someone
who has
been refereeing for a season or two, and you will receive a whistle,
Law
book, and CD rom that has the hole course on it, for review at
anytime. USA
still requires that refs be certified, in order to ref any match
leading up
to a national championship, so if you are a SERRS member, and have
not been
certified yet, you need to take one of these next two courses. You
will need to be up to date on your CIPP, if not I will have forms at
the
class, so you can fill them out then.
We are not going to limit the size of the class, but the cut off
for getting in is July 31st, because we have to order course
materials from the national
office, and it takes about a week and a half to process the order.
There has already been a lot of interest in the course, so if your
interested I need the following: Your name, email address, home
address,
and a phone number. There is no problem if you want on the list now,
and
find out by the cutoff you won't be able to attend, we just need a
decent
head count for the room we will be using.
I need for everyone to reconfirm with me that they will be making
the
Columbus course. This is who I have for now:
Jacob Chancery (confirmed)
Pat Beaird (confirmed)
Nigel Platt (confirmed)
Linda Mclean
Dan MacDougald (confirmed)
Lyle Fields
Gary Kent (confirmed)
Trent Randall (confirmed)
Steve Long
Rachael McCrum (confirmed)
There is plenty of room in each class, so let me know if you want
in.
Cutoff for Columbus is July 31st.
SERRS members, if any SERRS members (who is already Certified)
want's to sit in on the course,
please let me know. I would love to have you there.
Let me know
