Pike's Proving Grounds, Part 47
By admin - Date: 2002-03-14 11:55:20

Update for everyone, we are moving forward with the sodding of our field, however, due to the huge investment of both sod, our time thus far and the need for water to keep this investment viable, Pike has ssuggested we go with seeding this field, as opposed to Sod. They contend with the limited water we have @ to us, my desire to have lights, and our lack of ability to get them, and the limited control we have of being able to keep people off of the field while the sod takes, this is a better option.

Pike will donate the seed, the fertilizer and sand. We need to put in the man power to lay this and rent the tractor ( I wanna drive) for the aerator and seed spreader. I need help from someone with the knowlegde computing the amout of water we expect to use on the city's nickel and how we are going to water this pitch. I am sure there are cheap commercial grade 'sprinklers and hoses' out there we will have to plan for and purchase. The city will committ to the water they just want an idea of 'how' we will use it and how we will keep the grass green. Someone out there has this sort of education...Tony Vagullo and Tyler are you out there? This should be elementary for guys of you brian power.

We are shooting to do this yet this spring. This needs to be done by mid May. We also need to pull a couple more weekends for Pike.

Therefore, I am picking 4/6, 4/13 and 4/20 to do some more 3 hour shifts. C'mon we can do it. You don't have to work every weekend. But that is enough of them, that everyone can get a weekend out of it.

I will be out of town for the next 5 days. If I don't respond to your mindless babble, it is because I am ignoring you. Try my cell at 678-429-3575.

The biggest issue now is the water issue. I am not a landscape architect, I am rocket scientist and a double naught spy, I can't know everything, even if I am many of your hero. I need some feedback here.

Best of Luck in Savanah!
